Some situations can wait for a professional to do a proper inspection and get a full scope of the project before making any repairs. 2. Take Pictures and Document Any Damage.

Anything you can have on hand makes the insurance adjuster process much easier, and it can save you money, too. If you can, find approximate prices of what was damaged for a better estimate on how much it will cost to replace.

3. Wait for the Insurance Adjuster.
