1. Call Your Insurance Company and Rapid Restoration.

Call Rapid Restoration first for emergencies. We can help prevent further damage, whether you’re dealing with a flooded basement or burst pipe. We’re available 24/7 and will send one of our techs to start fixing the problem as soon as possible. You should then call your insurance company to open your claim and schedule a visit from a claim adjuster.

Can it wait?
Some situations can wait for a professional to do a proper inspection and get a full scope of the project before making any repairs. If you find mold in your home or need something repaired, call your insurance company first to open the claim. You can then contact us, and we’ll let you know how we can help. 2. Take Pictures and Document Any Damage.

Anything you can have on hand makes the insurance adjuster process much easier, and it can save you money, too. If you can, find approximate prices of what was damaged for a better estimate on how much it will cost to replace.

3. Wait for the Insurance Adjuster.

An insurance adjuster determines which repairs are covered by your policy and which ones aren’t. This is why any documentation is so important. It can help save you money and prove to your insurance company any necessary repairs should be paid for by your policy.

While you’re waiting, don’t hesitate to take a few steps to prevent the damage from getting worse. You can shut off your water if it’s safe or put a bucket underneath a leak. More of the expenses will be covered if you take action to keep repair costs down.

4. Take Care of Necessary Payments.

Often times, you’ll pay us the deductible, and we’ll contact the insurance company for you to take care of the rest. Whether your insurance company sends a check to you or to us depends on the company. We’ll work with you to make sure everything is paid for.

We’ll do whatever we can to make sure as much of your damage is covered. However, there may be some cases where the restoration isn’t covered entirely. This can happen if the cause of damage isn’t covered or if you choose to remodel your home instead of replacing what was damaged. We’ll work with you to create a payment plan that works for you and get your property exactly how you want it.
